Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StitchTip at https://stitchtip.com, including its calculators, reports, downloadable files, and related features. StitchTip is operated by Viacheslav Starykov, an individual (“StitchTip”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By using StitchTip, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The StitchTip service

StitchTip provides tools intended to assist with crochet, knitting, yarn, gauge, sizing, project planning, cost estimation, and related craft calculations. The service may include free calculators, free results or PDFs, and optional paid Pro Reports that provide additional calculations, scenarios, breakdowns, or presentation.

StitchTip is a calculation and planning aid. Results are estimates based on the information you enter and the assumptions built into the relevant calculator. Real-world results can differ because of yarn, fiber, tension, pattern construction, measurement technique, wastage, pricing, user input, and other factors.

2. Free and paid features

Most StitchTip calculator functionality is available without an account. Specific features are identified on the website as free or paid.

At launch, StitchTip may offer a one-time Pro Report for a displayed price, currently intended to be USD $0.99 per eligible report. The exact price and contents shown at checkout at the time of purchase control. StitchTip may change prices or the set of free and paid features for future purchases at any time.

A purchase of one Pro Report does not create a subscription and does not grant access to every current or future Pro Report unless the checkout expressly states otherwise.

3. No user account and local storage

StitchTip currently does not require or provide a user account for its core service. Calculator projects, report inputs, preferences, and recent report history may be stored only in the local browser storage of the device you use.

You are responsible for keeping copies of any information you need. Clearing browser data, using private-browsing modes, changing devices, changing browsers, resetting the device, or other local-storage events may permanently remove saved project/report information.

Paid-report access may also be associated with a secure browser-specific entitlement. Without an account, we may be unable to restore access if the local report data or the browser entitlement is lost.

4. Purchases and merchant of record

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for the transaction. This means the checkout, payment collection, applicable sales tax/VAT handling, receipt, payment fraud controls, refunds/chargebacks, and other transaction functions may be governed by Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms and policies.

StitchTip does not store your full payment-card information. You must provide accurate information required by the checkout provider.

Access to a paid Pro Report is granted only after StitchTip receives or verifies a valid successful-payment status through the payment integration. A return or success URL by itself does not prove that a payment was completed.

5. Digital delivery

Pro Reports are digital content intended to be made available promptly after successful payment and technical confirmation of the transaction. Delivery may require the same browser and local report data used to initiate the purchase.

If delivery is delayed because payment confirmation has not yet reached StitchTip, the service may temporarily display a payment-verification state. If a confirmed payment cannot be delivered because of a technical error attributable to StitchTip, contact support.

6. License and permitted use

Subject to these Terms, StitchTip grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service and any report you lawfully obtain for your own personal or internal craft/project planning purposes.

You may print or save a report for your own use. You may not, without permission:

• resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute StitchTip reports or site content as a standalone product;
• copy or reproduce substantial parts of the website, calculator logic, design, or content to create a competing service;
• circumvent a paywall or paid-report entitlement mechanism;
• interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, or abuse automated endpoints; or
• use StitchTip in violation of applicable law or the rights of others.

7. Accuracy and user responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing your inputs and deciding whether a calculation is suitable for your project. StitchTip does not guarantee that a project will use exactly the predicted amount of yarn, fit exactly as predicted, take the predicted amount of time, or cost exactly the predicted amount.

Where a calculation affects purchasing decisions, sizing, or project construction, you should use appropriate real-world checks such as gauge swatches, measurements, pattern instructions, yarn labels, and your own judgment before relying on the result.

8. Currency and price calculations

Where StitchTip lets you select a currency for project-cost calculations, the selected currency is a display and calculation unit for the values you enter. StitchTip does not necessarily perform foreign-exchange conversion or provide real-time exchange rates. A project-cost currency shown inside a calculator is separate from the currency charged by the checkout provider for a paid Pro Report.

Material prices, labor rates, taxes, shipping costs, and other real-world prices can change and must be verified independently.

9. Third-party services and links

StitchTip may rely on or link to third-party services, including Cloudflare for infrastructure, Lemon Squeezy for purchases, and external search or content providers when you deliberately use a related feature. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, content, or independent terms and privacy practices.

10. Intellectual property

The StitchTip name, website design, original text, software, calculator implementation, report presentation, graphics, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited permission expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

Names, trademarks, patterns, yarn brands, or third-party content referenced through external sources remain the property of their respective owners.

11. Availability and changes

We may modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features, calculators, report formats, prices, or portions of the service. We may also perform maintenance or deploy updates that temporarily affect availability. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.

Changes to future pricing do not retroactively change the price of a completed purchase.

12. Refunds

Refunds are governed by the StitchTip Refund Policy, Lemon Squeezy's applicable buyer/refund terms, and any mandatory rights that apply to you under law. Nothing in these Terms excludes a statutory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StitchTip is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not make warranties that calculations will be error-free, that every calculator is appropriate for every pattern or technique, or that the service will always be available.

Nothing in these Terms limits warranties, remedies, or rights that applicable consumer law makes mandatory.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StitchTip and the Operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or purely economic losses arising from reliance on a calculation, loss of locally stored project data, service interruption, third-party services, or decisions made using estimated results.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it is limited only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud or other non-excludable matters.

15. Suspension or termination

We may block or restrict use of the service where reasonably necessary to protect StitchTip, other users, payment systems, or third parties from fraud, abuse, attacks, circumvention of paid access, or unlawful conduct.

16. Applicable law and consumer protections

These Terms are intended to operate to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory protections provided by the law that applies to you, including protections that cannot be waived by contract.

Nothing in these Terms requires a consumer to give up a mandatory right to bring a dispute before a competent court or authority where such a right exists.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the service, payment model, or law changes. The current version will be posted on StitchTip with an updated date. Changes apply prospectively unless applicable law requires otherwise.
